Faculty List Department Contacts The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, was setup in the University recently from the session 1999. The Department functions as a sub-department of Mechanical Engineering, but offers separate seats on the admission basis. CHAIRMAN: Prof. Dr. M.A.Rehman Sheikh. CHAIRMAN MANUFACTURING DIVISION: Prof. Javed Latif. CAPACITY, MERIT & ELIGIBILITY:- The department offers a total of about 39 seats per session, out of which a total 34 seats are for open merit Punjab domicile category 'A'. According to the merit of session 1999 the department stood at 4th Position. A candidate applying for a seat to Industrial Engineering should have passed his/her Intermediate Examination with Pre-Engineering Subjects. The department does not offers any seat for B.Sc. candidates. COURSES:- The Department offers following course: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering. The Bachelor's Degree course is of 4 Years . Curriculum:- The Bachelor's Programme is being offered offered to meet the specific requirements of manufacturing industry & organizations providing Engineering services. First 2 years of study programme is common with Mechanical Engineering. The third and fourth year study programme aims at providing the students with basic knowledge in the subjects related to the requirements of the industry. The courses for Bachelor's Degree include: 1. Advanced Industrial Material & Processes. 2. Design of Production Tooling. 3. Industrial Electronics. 4. Manufacturing Automation & Robotics. 5. Engineering Economics & Accounting. 6. Total Quality Management. 7. Industrial Relations. 8. Human Resources Management. 9. Industrial Safety & Environment. LABORATORIES:- The Department as a sub-part of Mechanical Engineering uses the same laboratories as the Mechanical Engineering Department... A separate Manufacturing Division has been setup which houses some special labs for third & fourth year industrial students.
