Faculty List Department Contacts The Department of Petroleum Engineers, seekers of the hidden treasures of nature. The Department was created in 1975 ,today it has a total student enrollment of about 90- 100
CAPACITY, MERIT & ELIGIBILITY:- The department of Petroleum Engineering has a total capacity of about 90 - 100 students. This department offers a total of about 20 seats per session for B.Sc. courses out of which 10 seats are for open merit Punjab Domicile category. Merit wise the department stands at 4 - 5th position. The Eligibility to apply for a seat in this department is F.Sc. or B.Sc. or any other equivalent certificate recognized by the University Admissions Department. COURSES:- The Department offers a Bachelor's Degree Course in Petroleum Engineering. The Curriculum includes courses in the following main subjects:- *** Production Engineering, Artificial lift methods, reservoir studies, fluid properties, enhanced oil recovery techniques, well testing, well logging, natural gas, transmission distribution, rock properties, corrosion control in petroleum industry, petroleum economics, Storage Problems etc. etc..... The Duration for the Bachelor's Degree is 4 Years. LABORATORY & other FACILITIES:- The department has well equipped laboratories in the following four areas: 1. Drilling Engineering. 2. Petrophysics. 3. Reservoir fluid properties. 4. Corrosion control. *** The Department also has a well stocked library with a large number of books, text books, hand books, journals & research reports. *** The Department also has a Computer Center for faculty research & for students project and assignment work. LIAISON WITH PETROLEUM INDUSTRY:- The Department has established continuing links with the Oil and Gas Industry of Pakistan. As a result of this many national & multi-national oil & gas organizations have extended constructive links with the department and offer scholarships for the students and internship for their practical training.
